Despite all the hoopla over finances and bankruptcy, it is clear that the house of Lacroix has not been fazed. Instead, yesterday's collection showed strong looks that emphasized longevity rather than the crazy circus antics and colors often seen on the typical Lacroix show. Overall, the looks were demure, appealing and multidimensional offering more wear rather than just smoke and mirrors. I loved his use of appliques, lace, and beading. Sharp blazers with soft blouses and a mix of structured and loose skirts emphasized that this presentation was not a one note show. Charming gowns and show stopping fur collars on a beautiful brocade cape were definitely show stoppers.
